Welcome to our Blog!

Greetings and salutations! Welcome to the Asheville Buncombe Homeless Initiative’s new blog!

Over the next few months, you may notice our increased presence in the social media world.  We’re excited to use the multiple communication tools offered through Facebook , Blogs, and Twitter to get our story out!

We’ve heard your feedback – we know that people in Asheville in Buncombe County are eager to learn about the Homeless Initiative and exactly what it is that we do, and we can’t wait to tell you about it!

We hope that this blog will increase transparency and awareness as it engages the community in a dialogue about issues surrounding homelessness. In addition to providing you with updates about the goings-on of the Homeless Initiative as we work to end homelessness, look for:

  • opportunities to get involved
  • links and explanation to relevant news, research, and community outcomes
  • information on how you can get involved, and
  • stories about the impact homelessness has on people living in our community.

We want your help – as we begin to share information using the various social media platforms, let us know what is working (and what isn’t). Our goal is to provide you with accurate, timely information that will allow you to engage in this community-wide process of ending homelessness.

Be sure to check out our website and feel free contact our office directly with any questions!
